70+ Bible Verses About Eternal Life
Published Sept. 23, 2022
When we hear the words “eternal life”, we tend to think of it as something that can be achieved after death. But, as what these bible verses about eternal life tell us, it means so much more than that.
If you look at its literal meaning, then eternal life wouldn’t really be possible while we are still in our mortal coils. Everybody will eventually die and no one gets to live forever. But eternal life is more than just living in heaven or hell after death. Eternal life is the price purchased by Christ’s blood.
When God sent his only son to the world, he did so for us to be saved from the wages of sin which is death (Romans 6:23). In short, Jesus gave his life so that we can receive eternal life. And when we look at the scriptures, they are saying that eternal life is Christ himself. He is the bread of life, the promise that God made to us.
What does this mean?
It tells us that eternal life is not living in heaven, hell, or purgatory. Nor is it an after-death thing. It’s living with Christ and in Christ. It’s about having a firm and unshakeable relationship with God. When we offer our lives to Him and live our life according to His will, we are already living the eternal life – a life that is worth living.
