32 Uplifting Psalms About Hope
Published August 08, 2021
By definition, hope is the optimistic expectation for a certain thing to happen. As Christians, hope is our way of expressing confidence in God’s promises. It’s the part of our faith that focuses on the future and the firm belief that whatever it holds, God will keep true to his promise.
In the Bible, verses about hope are everywhere. From the Old to the New Testaments, you can easily spot a bible verse that talks about aspirations and anticipations. But perhaps, nothing more notably than in the Book of Psalms.
Unlike other books in the bible, the book of Psalms speaks about personal experiences. Its verses convey the author’s innermost thoughts, faith, desperation, and hope for the future. But most importantly, it teaches us about how to hold on to hope even when we couldn’t find a reason to.
So whenever you feel discouraged and feel like giving up, know that you can always find hope in the words of God. Be like King David who, in his Psalms to God, still managed to fight for hope even after going through a lot of suffering.
If you need more motivation, here are some of the most uplifting and powerful psalms about hope and finding hope in God:
- No one who hopes in you will ever be put to shame. – Psalm 25:3
- Do not fret because of the wicked; do not be envious of wrongdoers, for they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him, and He will act. He will make your vindication shine like the light, and the justice of your cause like the noonday. – Psalm 37:1-6
- But You, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from His Holy mountain. I lie down and sleep; I wake again because the Lord sustains me. I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. – Psalm 3:3-6

Deliver me, my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel. For you have been my hope, Sovereign Lord, my confidence since my youth.
